Mr. A.T.M.U.D.B Tennakoon Secretary
Mr. Tennakoon has obtained his Bachelor Degree with a Second Class Upper Division from the University of Kelaniya and Masters Degree in Rural Development from the University of East Anglia, UK. He is a Special Grade Officer of the Sri Lanka Planning Service. He joined the public service as an Assistant Director in the year 1994 and attached to the Integrated Rural Development Project in Kegalle District. Subsequently, he was appointed as an Assistant Director of the Regional Development Division in the Ministry of plan implementation. From 2001 to 2004 he worked in the Uva Provincial Council. In the year 2004 he was transferred to the Finance Commission and was appointed as a Deputy Director of the Finance Commission and promoted to the Director. In 2015 he joined the Ministry of National Policies and Economic Affairs in the capacity of Additional Secretary and served there till 31 August, 2016. He assumed duties as the Secretary of the Finance Commission on 01 September 2016.
Mr. Mahendrarajah obtained his first Degree in Economics from University of Jaffna in 1989 and completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Sub National Level Development and Planning at the University of Colombo in 1998. He also obtained his Master’s Degree MBA from AIT, Thailand in the field of International Business Management in 2001. Mr. Mahendrarajah recruited in Public Service in 1990 as Plan Implementation Officer in North East Provincial Council. He joined Sri Lanka Planning Service in 1994 through open competitive exam and started his profession as Assistant Director and then Deputy Director at External Resources Department under the Ministry of Finance and Planning. Then he was appointed as Deputy Chief Secretary – Planning at Eastern Provincial Council in 2008 and served in this position till 2018 in Eastern Provincial Council. He also has hold the Position as Director at Presidential Task Force Office for Northern and Eastern Development at Presidential Secretariat. In addition, He performed positions Expert on Regional Planning, Project Coordinator, National Programme Coordinator, and Deputy Project Manager full time and part time basis in Special Projects implemented by government with financing by ADB, GIZ and UNDP.
Mr. Bandara holds a Master of Science Degree in Macro Economics and Development Economics, Hiroshoma University, Japan, PG Dip in Development Studies and Public Policy, Open University of Sri Lanka and PG Dip in Education, University of Colombo. He obtained BA Degree with a Second Class Lower Division Pass from the University of Peradeniya. He counts more than 21 years of experience in the public sector starting his career as a school teacher in the North Western Province in 1996. He joined then the Ministry of North West Region Development as an Assistant Director (SLPS) in 2002. Subsequently, he worked for ministries of Regional Infrastructure Development, Reginal Development, Nation Building and Economic Development. In 2014, he was appointed as Director (Livelihood Development) of the Department of Divineguma Development. In Oct. 2016, he assumed duties as the Director (Policy Research and Publications) of the Finance Commission of Sri Lanka.
Mr. M.L.A. Chandradasa Director
Mr. Chandradasa has obtained a Bachelors Degree in Sociology from the University of Colombo and a Masters Degree in Public Administration (International) from the London Metropolitan University United Kingdom. Mr. Chandradasa records 19 years experience in the Finance Commission working in the capacity of a Research Officer and an Assistant Director as well as the Project Coordinator for the Education Sector Development Project funded by the World Bank.
Mr. Chandradasa is presently functioning as a Director of the Finance Commission.

Mrs. Deepthi Abeygunawardana has obtained a B.Sc.(special), First Class (Hons) degree in Mathematical Physics from the University of Kelaniya and holds a Master of Financial Economics from the University of Colombo. Also, she has completed a Diploma in Project Monitoring and Evaluation offered by the “Miloda” Academy of Financial Studies.
Mrs. Deepthi started her career in 2011, as a Temporary Lecturer in Physics at the University of Kelaniya. In 2013, she joined Sri Lanka Planning Service (SLPS) through the Open Competitive examination and worked as an Assistant Director (Planning) at the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of National Policies & Economic Affairs respectively. Currently, she works as a Deputy Director at the Finance Commission of Sri Lanka.
Ms.Erandi Gunasekara Deputy Director
Ms. Erandi Gunasekara obtained a B.Sc. Business Administration (Special) Degree with Second Class Upper Division from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura in 2011. She joined the Sri Lanka Planning Service in 2013.
Mr.Premalal WIjesinghe Assistant Director
Mr. Wijesinghe was graduated from Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya in 2004 with a B.Sc. in Agriculture (2 nd Class Upper Division), he also gained Masters in Crop Science from the Postgraduate Institute of Agriculture, of the same University in 2007. In 2016, Mr. Wijesinghe obtained a Master Degree in Development Studies from University of Melbourne under the Australia Awards Scholarship Programme. In addition, he has a Diploma in Development and Planning from SLIDA. Mr. Wijesinghe joined the Sri Lanka Planning Service in 2008 through the Open Competitive Examination and was first appointed as an Assistant Director (Planning) at the Provincial Ministry of Agriculture, Uva Province in 2009. He was then appointed as an Assistant Director at the Sustainable Development Division of the President’s Secretariat in 2017. Currently, he has been working at the Finance Commission as an Assistant Director since December 2019.
Ms.Kalpani Ranasinghe Internal Auditor
Ms. Ranasinghe obtained a B.B. Mgt (Accountancy) Special Degree from the University of Kelaniya and a Master’s Degree in Economics from university of Kelaniya. She joined the Sri Lanka Accountants Service in 2008.
Mr. Chameera Chandrasiri Accountant
Mr. Chandrasiri holds a Bachelor’s Degree in B. Com. (Special) from the University of Kelaniya and possesses 5 years of experience in the field of Government Accounting since 2015. He joined the Sri Lanka Accountants’ Service in 2015 and worked at Department of Census and Statistics as an Accountant till 2019 prior to joining Finance Commission. He is part qualified in Chartered Accountancy and possesses a Diploma in Public Procurement and Contract Administration from Miloda Academy of Financial Study.
Mr. P.R. Nishantha Sujeewa Assistant Director (Information Officer)
Mr.Nishantha obtained a B.A. Special Degree (Economics) from the University of Kelaniya and a Master’s Degree in Economics from University of Kelaniya. He also possess a Diploma in Planning and Development from SLIDA. He has represented Sri Lanka in many international training programmers in relation to development and planning.
He joined the Public Services in 2000, as a Development officer after he joined the Sri Lankan Planning Services in 2009. During the last 15 years, he worked in the presidential Secretariat.
Mrs. Thiloka Abeysekera Assistant Director
Ms.Thiloka has obtained a second class upper Division in Business Administration (special) Degree in University of Sri Jayawardanapura and a Master’s Degree in Economics from University of Kelaniya. She also possesses a postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration from Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM) University of Sri Jayawardanapura. Mrs. Abeysekara has joined planning service in 2009 and has been serving in government sector for last 15 years.
Mrs. W.G. Manoja Wasanthi Assistant Director
Ms.Manoja Wasanthi has obtained a B.Sc Marketing Management Special Degree with a Second Class Upper Division from Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka in 2005,Masters Degree in Financial Economics from University of Colombo in 2015 and Post Graduate Diploma in Development Planning From University of Ruhuna in 2011. She has joined the Public Service as a Development Officer in 2010 and joined the Planning Service in 2019 through competitive exam and started her profession as an Assistant Director.
